Frequently Asked Questions

I own a pair of Julbos already, can I purchase a set of Julbo RX Lab Prescription lenses for them?

The majority of cost involved with Julbo eyewear is in the lens technology and the fitting process. If you want additional lenses they're comming with frames around them at no additional cost!

What Is the Julbo Rx Lab Prescription Warranty?

Julbo RXLAB prescription eyewear has a limited one-year warranty from the date of purchase for any manufacturing defect regarding our special lens coatings, lens treatments or frame breakage due to material or defective workmanship. All warranty claims must be handled directly through the original dealer. If you purchased them from Julbo USA, please reach out to us. We stand by our products and if you are not completely satisfied, we will work with you to determine the best solution. Please Note: The Julbo Rx Lab warranty does not cover scratched lenses or breakage caused by wear and tear. Julbo frames installed with non-Julbo custom or prescription lenses are not covered under warranty. This warranty extends only to residents of the United States.

Will insurance cover my Julbo Rx Lab purchase?

Sometimes! It depends what your insurance options are. Send us an email or give a call and we'd be happy to walk you through this process.

Will I need to adapt to my new Julbo Rx glasses?

In some cases, it takes time for your eyes to adapt and adjust to new lenses especially if you have a new prescription. The good news is most people get acclimated within 24-48 hours. We strongly recommend wearing your Julbo RX LAB sunglasses for at least two weeks. We stand by our products, and if you are not completely satisfied with your JulboRX prescription sunglasses you can return them for a full refund within 60 days.

Where are Julbo Rx sunglasses made?

Your sunglasses will be built by our highly trained technicians at our state of the art facility in France. We know our products better than anyone & build thousands of Rx sunglasses every year

Can I order the Fury, Sherpa, Cham, Vermont Classic, Stowe or Tahoe?

The following frames are not available from our lab: Fury, Sherpa, Cham, Vermont Classic, Stowe and Tahoe. Check out opticus.com or sportrx.com for some of those frames, they will not be Julbo lenses, but they do a great job!

What is monocular pupillary distance?
This is a per-eye measurement from the right pupil to the middle of the face, and the left pupil to the middle of the face. (You may need to ask your eye doctor for this)
Can I use my pro deal discount on an Rx order?
Pro deals can only be applied through our third party partners like ExpertVoice or Outdoor Prolink. Sorry, we can not apply your discount towards an Rx order.
Are Spectron lenses available in Rx insert frames?
The only lens material that will work for a Rx insert is the Reactiv Trivex lens material. We are unable to create prescription inserts using Spectron polycarbonate material. This only pertains to frames like the Rush, Aero, Aerospeed or Aerolite that use prescription inserts. If you want Spectron lenses, go for a Full Lens frame like the Shield or Renegade.

What forms of payment does Julbo accept?

How do I repair my Julbo Rx Lab Sunglasses?

This depends on the nature of the repair. If your frame is broken or damaged, we will do our best to help you fix it within the terms of our Prescription Warranty. Spare frame parts (this does not include Julbo Rx Lab lenses) will be available at no cost for up to 5 years. Please contact Customer Service at 800-651-0833 or e-mail info@julbousa.com to discuss your specific repair.

US and European prescription values, are they different?

When you receive your new Julbo eyewear there will be additional paperwork enclosed in your order. (It will be different than what’s on your actual prescription.) There are two ways to read and translate the same prescription. We handle it one way in the US, in Europe it’s expressed in another way — but they are the same prescription.

How will I know what my frame/lens selection will look like?

The Julbo Rx-Team works with you before submitting anything to the lab. You will receive an email from our Rx team with a final quote of your order before it is sent to the RX Lab.

This quote will have details of your order, as well as a reference of your color selections for you to review. Once approved, Julbo sends the order our state of the art Rx Lab.

How can I check on my order status?

Once an order is placed, it usually takes about 2-5 weeks for the order to be completed. You will reicieve shipping confirmations from us. If you have any questions in the meantime feel free to reach out to info@julbousa.com

How much does shipping cost?

All Julbo RX orders ship for free. The cost includes Frame, Rx Lenses & Shipping. Quick and Easy!

Do I need to upload my prescription to checkout?
You don't! Simply hit the button that says "Submit Later" and proceed with the order. We will reach out for your prescription values as soon as possible.
Can I order multi-focal/progressive lenses?
YES! Absolutely! We suggest a frame trial on the frames of interest. An eye doctor will need to measure your fitting height to ensure progressive acuracy. (This measurment is 100% necessary for producing progressive eyewear.)
Can I get prescription Julbo goggles?
Julbo offer a Goggle Optical Clip that is compatible with any adult Julbo goggle. We also have a Junior version. Those are available at https://www.julbo.com/en_us/spare-parts/julbo-optical-clip-prescription
